COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER (INTERNAL & EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS) – BUSINESS PARTNER TO TECHNOLOGY FUNCTION OF A LARGE FINANCIAL SERVICES (TECH LED ORGANISATION)

Exciting newly created opportunity to join our client a high reputable, innovative and technology led financial services business as COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER, acting as Business Partner to the Technology function, developing both internal and external communications plans.

Experience in both internal and external communications is essential ideally gained in a high profile technology led business OR alternatively you’ll need experience of working closely with/business partnering with the Technology function of a major Corporate or Financial Services business.

You’ll plan and guide the communications activity (internal and external) working closely with the senior leadership team of the Group Technology function, helping to tell compelling stories (across the technology function as well as the wider business) and provide critical reputational counsel to the functions that play a pivotal role in driving the transformation and ways of working that underpin the success of the business

    • Play a leading role in defining and delivering the integrated communications strategies
    • Drive storytelling by proactively finding and telling stories which support the organisation as it transforms and showcase the crucial role the Technology and Data functions play in delivering the overall firm strategy.
    • Work closely and collaboratively with teams across corporate communications and with subject matter experts across the Group, providing informed, professional and strategic counsel on issues that affect reputation.
    • Champion the communications needs and opportunities facing the Business; exploring innovative and creative ways to share the stories that showcase the crucial role they play in the transformation of the business
    • Lead the relationships with in-business communicators, putting audiences first and constantly challenging and collaborating to maximise impact and minimise volume of communications for audiences
    • Work in partnership with external communications specialists (media relations, social media and public affairs teams) to identify, prioritise and deliver the impactful communications that promote the business and reputation for external partners including media, politicians, colleagues and future employees
    • Use measurement and feedback to understand the impact of communication and use the findings to test, learn and adapt to influence future communications.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Experience in BOTH External & Internal communications is essential
  • Experience of working in a Communications role within a TECHNOLOGY ENVIROMENT this can come from experience of working in a high profile, innovative technology organisation. OR you’ll need experience of business partnering with the Technology function of a major corporate
  • Some experience in Employer Brand Marketing would be helpful
  • Experience in external communications and media relations is essential to include coming developing stories and media messaging as well as understanding the media landscape (ideally within the technology space)
  • You’ll have a strong track record in Internal Communications
  • Leadership communications experience would be helpful
