Interview: Andreas Kluß, Head of Business Development & Marketing, RSM Germany

June 11, 2020

We’ve conducted a few short interviews with professional services experts and executives that will be released periodically over the next few weeks. These give you an insight into the extent to which companies are dealing with the current situation and show what challenges we could still face.

How has your law firm been working from the home office since the outbreak of the crisis? How long has your team been working from home and have you noticed a change in your team’s output since then?

We quickly adopted new ways of working, such as using Microsoft Teams, which was quite new to us at first. It works very well and so far nothing has changed in the output.

How is your team performing under the current circumstances? Relocate your marketing BD focus in a specific direction?

The teamwork is incredible and the motivation is still very high. Our focus in Business Development & Marketing is now in particular to support our customers in the best possible way and to find relevant information on all the economic stimulus packages that have been set by the federal and state governments. We have set up a Corona Resource Center on our website as a kind of go-to for all this information. We also send regular newsletters to keep our customers up to date.

Did you have to make changes within your team? Are you still hiring new employees in your team?

The size of the team remains the same, at least this year. We will be hiring a new content manager in July, however this was approved last year.

Has your marketing budget been impacted, and if so, how? For example, has it even been cancelled?

Our budget has been canceled for the time being, but we will decide how to deal with it on a regular basis and in particular depending on economic developments.

Have you moved to webinars with event cancellations? What is the need?

We’ve been slow to adopt webinars, but that’s about to change. We see how powerful webinars can be when used properly – not only in the current crisis.
