Our client is seeking a Senior Marketing Communications Manager with experience in the B2B Financial Services space (pref investment related) to join an exceptional team during a pivotal moment in their business operations.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development and implementation of transformative marketing and communication strategies. Our client is looking for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment, embraces change, and can swiftly adapt to shifting priorities. Your role will involve overseeing both global and local transformation programs, and you’ll be a quick learner with the knack for conveying complex messages to diverse audiences. Building strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders, including clients, industry peers, our senior leadership team, and internal team members at all levels, is a key aspect of this role.
Reporting into the Group Head of Marketing & Brand, the Senior Marketing Communications Manager will operate with autonomy and will be responsible for setting and executing the UK marketing strategy in alignment with the global strategic plan. You will manage one direct report initially
Responsibilities:
- Lead marketing and communications: Establish and drive the strategic marketing and communications function within the UK business to maximise external influence and internal communications effectiveness.
- Marketing plan development: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications plan that aligns with the business’ priorities, covering areas such as financial advocacy and inclusion, data-driven insights, new product launches, client partnerships, sector leadership, and business development.
- Local branding strategies: Develop and implement local branding strategies that support the company’s overarching business objectives and ensure brand consistency across all marketing and communication activities.
- Content creation: Generate new marketing content, including web and social media materials, sales presentations, white papers, videos, and client communications.
- News flow management: Contribute to news flow in partnership with the PR agency and Corporate Communications team, taking the lead on local story initiation, and adaptation of regional/worldwide news releases and publications covering various topics from credit intelligence to social impact initiatives.
- Client focus: Play a crucial role in fostering client and customer centricity, by establishing a common CRM (using Hubspot) to support sales management and communications. Furthermore, you will introduce account-based marketing concepts to strengthen client relationships, support retention efforts, and create opportunities for client renewals.
- Strategic communications: Work with key stakeholders to develop and implement communications strategies that support people engagement, client engagement, and broader business initiatives and projects at both strategic and tactical levels.
- Stakeholder relationships: Cultivate effective and trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation, working collaboratively with different business units to create briefs, messaging, and marketing strategies as required.
- Industry sponsorships: Serve as the main point of contact for sponsorship and industry memberships, coordinating team attendance at events, securing speaking opportunities, and managing contract renewals.
- Internal communications: Oversee day-to-day proactive and reactive internal communications across the company’s communication channels.
About You
- Solid experience in a Marketing Communications role with a strong foundation in B2B marketing within financial services ideally with some experience in the Investment Management arena or related space
- Broad offline and digital marketing communications experience
- Exceptional written communication and copywriting skills
- Extensive project management and change management experience, including launching new products.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the capability to engage and collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong IT literacy, including proficiency in MS Office, CRM systems, Email Marketing systems, and Website CMS (e.g., Hubspot), and Adobe Photoshop/InDesign would be helpful.
