The Company…

Our client is an exciting e-commerce start-up who, after only a couple of years of operations in the market, is now a leading online marketplace in Southeast Asia. Together with their retail partners, brands and customers, they aim to create value for the grocery ecosystem. The core business model they have built the business upon has proven itself as they have reached profitability after less than 2 years. They are looking at exciting further growth in the region with a very considered approach to ensure sustainability and are now in need of a Managing Director for Thailand.

The Role…

The MD will be responsible for Thailand operations and business growth taking accountability for all strategic and operational decisions within the market; from calibrating the group's value proposition to match local market requirements, to driving growth and expansion while ensuring operational excellence. The Managing Director should be passionate about teamwork as he leads and develops the local team, liaises with senior management team across the region and making sure that the local business is aligned with the group's strategic direction.

You…

Are a young and merging leader having some 5 solid years of experience in logistics, business development and operational management. You are either someone of local heritage with international business exposure or a foreign talent who has settled in Thailand possessing deep knowledge of the local market and culture. You have a healthy sense of humour to spread to the team while setting clear business targets and expectations, lead from the front to encourage initiative, and have natural intuition and ability to switch from different management and leadership styles, all aimed at pushing for best results. You will take ownership and responsibility for identifying motivators from each of your team members and develop them to be the best they can be. When things get rough, you will show decisiveness and demonstrate determination and high energy showing and leading the team on how to weather the storm.
