My Client who are a provider of personalised investment management and wealth management services for private investors and trustees (Including discretionary investment management, unit trusts, tax palnning, trust and company management, pension advice and banking services) are now looking for a Communications Executive with experience in the financial services sector to join their growing team,

You will play a key role to support PR and media activity, working with external PR agencies as well as support the execution of internal communications that enable the delivery of core messages across the business engaging all employees fully to my clients values and purpose, strategy, objectives and activities.

The role is based in London with 2-3 days office days per week.



  • Help facilitate the relationships we have with two of our external PR agencies, including supplier management and budget control.
  • Work in close cooperation with other colleagues with PR responsibilities to ensure a joined-up approach.
  • Liaise directly with journalists, responding promptly to press enquiries and redirecting them where appropriate.
  • Work with key spokespeople to produce content for media (quotes and placed articles). Help arrange occasional media training.
  • Co-ordinate and submit responses to annual surveys such as the FT Private Client Wealth survey.
  • Manage the process for certain awards submissions, both for individuals and Rathbones as a company.
  • Send round daily press cuttings email to internal stakeholders so they are aware of press coverage when speaking to clients or others.

Internal Communications

  • Help support the successful implementation of the 2018-2023 business strategy and the companies purpose and values within the organisation through creative and engaging internal communications.
  • Help to maintain, develop and enhance the intranet (SharePoint). Assist in the planned upgrade of this system.
  • Organise internal roadshows and meetings to raise the profile of senior leaders within the business and ensure a two-way feedback loop between employees and management.
  • Support the Marketing team to ‘tell & sell’ the Marketing programme. Similarly, support HR in promoting employee wellbeing initiatives internally, and Technology & Change with change projects affecting the business.
  • Get involved with internal committees such as the London Sports & Social Committee to organise events that bring employees together.

Experience required

  • Minimum three years’ experience in a PR or communications role. Must have experience of working with financial services or professional practices firms (ideally with knowledge of the private client sector and/or experience in a regulated environment)
  • Must be highly technologically competent and confident with MS Office. Experience with a Content Management System (whether intranet or internet) a significant advantage.
  • Knowledge of corporate use of social media.
  • Understanding of how PR fits into content marketing plans and integrated campaigns.
  • Highly professional with excellent relationship-building skills and outstanding responsiveness.
  • Organised, proactive and focused on delivery to a high standard.
  • First-rate writing ability and excellent attention to detail.
  • Creative and collaborative with strong personal communication skills.
