Do you have any secrets to having a successful career?
Do something you really enjoy. Be assertive and robust, even if you don't feel like it. And put yourself forward for things, particularly high profile projects. Build your networks.
What do you think is the most significant barrier to female leadership?
The barriers are usually organisational culture (particularly if there is not true commitment from leaderships), and lack of role models, particularly in some disciplines. It's great to change the culture from within if you can, but if the senior commitment is not there, move companies.
What advice would you give aspiring women in your industry?
Get some breadth of experience before you specialise – don't shut down your options too early. Invest in understanding the business, not just your little bit of it. Be assertive and visible. Build relationships and deliver reliably.
